It seems there are new changes to Facebook everyday. And now, Facebook debuts their new Slideshow feature. Determined to become a destination for video, Facebook now has this new feature coming to its iOS app this week. It takes your mobile photos and videos and transforms them into a short clip, which you can then customize with different themes and music. You can edit Slideshow to add or remove images, in addition to being able to change the theme to one of ten including Nostalgic, Playful, Night Out, Birthday, Epic, Thankful, Tropical, Bollywood (my favorite), and Amped.

And you don’t really have to put much effort into it: Facebook automatically will do this for you with a pre-made slideshow with a minimum of five photos or videos you’ve made in the last 24 hours. And if you see one a slideshow in your News Feed, you can tap a “try it” prompt to make one yourself.

Slideshow expands upon Facebook’s Year in Review feature to create short films out of what you share. Putting the Slideshow feature directly in the main Facebook app shows that Facebook wants to compete with Google and Apple. Does this make you the next Steven Spielberg? Maybe not, but you might feel like it when you “produce” your first Slideshow, replete with music and cool themes.
